About me

Hi, I'm Alice. I'm an 18 year old girl who's studying Fashion Communication and Promotion at uni.
My passion's lie with the world of fashion, photography and film. I love to experiment with different ideas and concepts, learning new skills on the way. I've always been one to understand to gain inspiration from anywhere so expect to see a lot of tv and fashion collection reviews.

Here I'm going to write about my favourite things as well as the lessons I learn on the way. Hope you enjoy my content.

ESTHÉ REVIEW

During brief 6 I have been looking into a brand called ESTHÉ. One thing I wanted to do was buy some of their products to see how the brand handles their packaging, quality and communication with the consumer. I'm not sure whether this with will be in my final booklet but I thought that this would help me to understand the thought process of the brand.

Firstly I want to talk about the brands clothing. Everything you see has a defined contemporary style with light colours to in keep a "chilled" aesthetic. The brand itself is actually a shortening of aesthetic, hence why they care so much for it. Everything has this gender neutral sheer look, using models that create the tone of a relaxed brand.

As we are currently in lockdown I decided to choose items that would be easy to ship, due to statements made by the brand about longer shipments. This turned out to not have mattered in the end as I got my order within only a few days, just like an average consumer would. On the brand's website they state that within the working days they will ship orders up to 6pm that day and after they'll be done the day after. Personally, due to living in England, the place the brand is from, it probably helped with the shipping. If I was living in the US or in mainland Europe I wonder if it would be an entirely different situation.

When my products came they were packaged in a reusable bag, like the ones glossier products come in. The only difference between this and Glossier is that this is a sustainable bag with a zip, meaning that it actually can be used for a while. As for the products themselves they came securely with no loose threads or rips. The bralette was beautiful and fit comfortably, the only problem was the label with rubbed against my skin. The corner of the label was the most uncomfortable due to the heavy thread situated there. As for the socks they are kind of small but adorable when worn with heels or my Nike air forces. I think as a size 6 foot with wide feet I knew it would probably be a problem. Nonetheless I still love them and how comfy they are.

Its now been two weeks since I ordered my products and I still wear them. I did have to cut the label out of my bralette but overall I'm glad that I bought all these products. I think the best thing that I got from this was the packaging, its a great idea and I have actually started to use it for first aid bits. To be honest, I've actually decided to order the jumper below once I've finished this project. Hopefully I get another bag.
