Inspiration can come from anywhere, whether that being another photographer or something nearby to you.
A lot of inspiration that I find comes from situations that happen around me or the area I'm in. For example, from the night shoot photos, a lot of them were built up from situations I had experienced that connect the way a particular light hits a tree or how a shift in the shutter speed changed the meaning of a photo.
Whenever I struggle with inspiration, my first thought is to look at my Pinterest page. It helps to get an idea of what to look for or seeing anything that I have recently saved, which connects to what I see around. Using Pinterest can be a struggle as you can find yourself copying a photo you've seen, meaning that when it doesn't turn out like that, you get angry. Inspiration doesn't mean copying precisely what you see, its more about gathering a few images for the aspects they have (whether that being a photographers image or not) and combining them all to become new.
I decided to ask other people how they get their inspiration and here's what they said:
-Books
-Making memories and thinking about what you want to see later on in life
-Keeping an eye on your surroundings
-Going for walks
-Researching
-Storing images in folders to look back on
It's interesting how everyone, even though we use the same applications, uses them with different thought processes in mind. The way we see a photo or an aspect is very different, and when talking to people, they said some things that I had never thought about, which is great to open your mind up to the various possibilities.
