Night shoots

I recently went on a trip out with the photography society for a night shoot. It was exciting to discover places to shoot in Nottingham while still learning about how to change my camera to reach a different audience.
For a person who loves photography, the way each person found the same thing to focus on but changing the way the photos were taken or edited was exciting to see. I think that in each case, different styles were seen as not something wrong but a new way of thinking. I found this to be something inspiring to see, as there are many photo shoots, fashion ones mainly that use the same format or style. Now I know some of you will be shouting at your device, screaming Alice what are you talking about but I promise, I don't tell a lie. If you look at many Vogue magazines, in particular, they use a similar format and hire photographers who can "copy" that same style. Its person preference, but what Vogue and many others don't realise is that many photographers or students will see these styles, basing their style on that.
Back to the subject in hand, the meetup. I want to talk about my photos for a bit. I use a Kodak PIXPRO AZ422 that got for cheap on eBay. Not going to lie here its not the best, but you make do with what you have. That was something I learnt from a very early age. The quality of the pictures that are above was taken at night, which for my camera means theyre going to be fuzzy no matter how many times I smooth the texture or pop colouring onto the photos. It's just a bonus others don't have.
Now looking at the photos back some worked and others that didn't. I think that this is all apart of the process of learning, trying out new aspects you may have never tried, and sometimes you fail others, there are golden moments that work. I had one of these in a picture of the town hall. At first, I didn't like it, but after some playing around with textures and colours, as well as filters I tried a black and white one, and it worked. Perseverance can be useful sometimes, I had almost given up on a few of the photos, but at the end of the day, it's nice to see a progression of each stage of my learning is like. That's why I choose to show you some of the ones that aren't as good, but I still like.
