Tinder Passport: the good the bad and the weird

So as quarantine is making me question my sanity and I’ve lost all faith in venturing out to other countries I thought it would be fun to see the world through the eyes of Tinder.
Now for those who don’t know, probably because you are happily in a relationship, Tinder has come up with a great solution for those who hate the pick of boys in their area. The app decided that all users until the 4th of May can change their location to anywhere in the world and meet people that way. After the 4th it will no longer be available to those who can’t be bothered to pay the money for a dating app, and will only be allowed to the Tinder Plus users.

I started using this location changer a few days ago and I’ve already been to Australia, France, South Africa and Denmark. At first, I didn‘t really know what I was letting myself in for, but sure did I learn. Let’s just say that you don’t go to Brisbane in Australia if you're looking for a serious guy.
You see, the Australian men are like the British men but only more forward and less caring. These men are the ones you see doing dares every night in the pub, the kind of guy who has a whole toolbox full of lines to win a girl but all of them are bad. Now the common tinder profile of an Aussie boy is as follows:
-a travelling or drunk photo as the first one
-if you have a photo of the fish you caught add that in
-if you have a pet perfect
-if you smoke perfect we need to know
-finish with a meme or a surfing photo and it’s perfect
-and don’t forget you have to have a bio that says you went to Queensland University

Now I think we need to talk about the Europeans on this app. There is something about all European men and their weird humour thinking that all girls want to see is their holiday photos and that be it. Well, it’s either that or the photos of them being a Scandinavian model called Jakob. They also seem to think that these dad jokes are appealing and we all want that. Surprisingly it apparently doesn't work well, according to the guys that I asked (the best part about that is a message I go that said "I don't understand why though").
It’s funny to see how the stereotype for each country is pursed in these guys. The way they talk to us with the bad jokes and a little bully about our prime minister all means that we will fall in love with them apparently. Now being a girl who knows how to handle annoying boys, for me it was actually fun to put these boys in their place and teach them how to talk to girls (let's just say I felt like a teacher). To me, it was like I was the love guru even though if you had met me three years ago I wouldn't have been able to even talk to a boy let alone correct them on what they are doing. Maybe this was my way of helping the feminine generation or it was just that I had enough of boys thinking it was easy to get a girl. Now you're probably wondering "Alice its all well and good you helping these boys but did any of them use the help you gave" and the answer is yes, yes they did. I mean it was only two but I see that as an improvement. So you're welcome for that, hopefully we get more (fingers crossed).

Now that everyone is my time and experience on Tinder Passport. Take from it want you want but please be careful no matter what. A helpful tip I want to leave you all on is to remember your Instagram influencers, they crop up as other people a lot. So have fun and be careful with Aussie boys.
