About me

Hi, I'm Alice. I'm an 18 year old girl who's studying Fashion Communication and Promotion at uni.
My passion's lie with the world of fashion, photography and film. I love to experiment with different ideas and concepts, learning new skills on the way. I've always been one to understand to gain inspiration from anywhere so expect to see a lot of tv and fashion collection reviews.

Here I'm going to write about my favourite things as well as the lessons I learn on the way. Hope you enjoy my content.

Colouring books aren't just for kids

Remember when we were kids and we would have those colouring books given to use by a lady in a supermarket, or when you walked into McDonald's and grabbed those sheets and half broken crayons. Those were the days. Simpler days when we didn't have to worry about money or where our IDs are. Fun fact: I used to have a colour book about fashion models, thats when apparently my family knew I was going to be in fashion somehow. Pretty cool.

Well great news my kids at heart! Colouring books are now a trend amongst adults and honestly I couldn't be happier. So get out your pencils and crayons because were talking about them today.

Found, for some reason, in the card aisle, the colouring books are everywhere in supermarkets across the UK. Its great mainly due to how it makes you feel, as well as how cheap the books are. When we were little it was the thing that our parents would give us to stay still and shut up for a bit. Now its the thing we distract ourselves with keeping ourselves calm and not think about what's happening in the outside world. Keeping ourselves chilled out whether were doing it at home, on the train, or even on lunch breaks. For all those asking about the last two trust me I have seen them.

Looking at the colouring books, they have adult versions that (even though are more expensive) are more difficult allowing a more developed mind to concentrate. That's something that I've noticed, when we become adults the world seems hard to forget and so relaxing is actually harder too. Things like meditation don't come into an adults normal routine when either waking up or going to sleep. If we think why, its mainly due to our minds working at a hundred miles a minute with work problems or family problems going through our heads. The time we take to just relax can actually send people in to states of crying out all their feelings or intense worry. That's why so many are scared of doing this. Colouring books allow the chance to focus on something other then the highly active mind. Its actually a big anxiety relief that many therapists use with their patients.
