About me

Hi, I'm Alice. I'm an 18 year old girl who's studying Fashion Communication and Promotion at uni.
My passion's lie with the world of fashion, photography and film. I love to experiment with different ideas and concepts, learning new skills on the way. I've always been one to understand to gain inspiration from anywhere so expect to see a lot of tv and fashion collection reviews.

Here I'm going to write about my favourite things as well as the lessons I learn on the way. Hope you enjoy my content.

Growing up listening to 80's music is amazing

As a child, I grew up with parents who grew up through the '70s and '80s, which probably explains my love of the eras. My parents would always be listening to the music of Elton John, Blondie and ELO. I was 8 when I discovered I knew the whole lyrics to Mr Blue Sky, 9 when I knew all of 99 Luftballons by Nena (yes the German version still don't know some of what I am saying).

I think that everyone has some of their music taste because of their parents. For me, it was the indie style which came from the love of Kind Harvest and Fleetwood Mac. The love of 70s music, in particular, was always my favourite as I could really just dance away to that disco fever sound, bringing all the joyous vibes that I loved. The joy the music gave us was always something that was special in my family as we could be driving 8 hours, but if we had a good playlist then we would be fine to spend those hours together, having our legs turn to jelly the second we got out.

70's music like the sound of ABBA now has the same reaction with me. My body starts to move, bopping to the rhythm and I start to feel the joy that I can only imagine my parents had when they were younger hearing the same music for the first time. I can't wait to find out how the generations to come will react to the music we have now and how it will transition into music that is so different from the way it is now.
