About me

Hi, I'm Alice. I'm an 18 year old girl who's studying Fashion Communication and Promotion at uni.
My passion's lie with the world of fashion, photography and film. I love to experiment with different ideas and concepts, learning new skills on the way. I've always been one to understand to gain inspiration from anywhere so expect to see a lot of tv and fashion collection reviews.

Here I'm going to write about my favourite things as well as the lessons I learn on the way. Hope you enjoy my content.

Picking a brand for brief 6: Isosceles

I chose to look at Isosceles due to the way it was all about "for women" identity it has. I noticed that the brand has an aesthetic seen on a lot of Instagram models which is all about being sexual but cute. The reason this shouted out to me was the use of the sheer fabric mixed with the colours and shapes to give an almost "peekaboo" effect. The a-symmetry meant that it would be cuter to look at almost like saying it was a work of "art"

I feel that when communicating with the consumer the brand doesn't seem to do it strongly. I personally don't feel as if there is any emotion to the brand except the want for women to own their own bodies and feel comfortable in them. I wondered if this was something I could explore if I want to choose this brand as I feel like giving them more of a chance to express themselves and who they are would help consumers to feel the vulnerability of the brand.

Whilst looking at the brands clothing I was reminded of Jean-Paul Gautier perfumes and how they use the bodies to hold their perfumes. Normally, these bodies are stick thin, same size as the models they would hire but if a brand who was more accepting to all sizes had the same kind of format it gives a wider look into how we look at ourselves. Its a classic example of someone seeing themselves in the magazine, but instead its the perfume they put on every day.
