Pitches: the good, the bad and the nervous

So, pitches, I have to be honest I fucking hate them so much. I feel like a little kid being angry because she knows she has to do one and wants to have a tantrum. In all honesty, they are hard especially if you're an ex shy person who would cry at the thought of speaking to people, let alone a big crowd of them. The eyes just creep you out and you run out crying and thinking you're going to throw up (totally not speaking from personal experience).

I always think pitches are a waste but after understanding more about them I do understand why I have to do them *big huff*. In our group, we have to use them to show an idea that we've come up with. The lecture was about why a) you shouldn't be nervous (got to be honest that made me more nervous) and b) what you should add to make it good. It was nice to have someone explain in detail how they should be written as well as how each part that is said by every group member should be said with confidence (something I knew I had in moderation). The only questions that I have are: how do I connect to the audience? What do I need to focus on, the big idea or the overall concept? Hopefully, these questions will be answered in the seminar and if not I might have to ask them myself. Anyway, I hope that the pitch goes well and that I don't freeze up and faint. Now that would be a blog post, I can imagine it now "I fainted giving a pitch and here's the story"
