About me

Hi, I'm Alice. I'm an 18 year old girl who's studying Fashion Communication and Promotion at uni.
My passion's lie with the world of fashion, photography and film. I love to experiment with different ideas and concepts, learning new skills on the way. I've always been one to understand to gain inspiration from anywhere so expect to see a lot of tv and fashion collection reviews.

Here I'm going to write about my favourite things as well as the lessons I learn on the way. Hope you enjoy my content.

The effect of dance

Dance is something that feeds the soul. Dancers are artists, capable of telling stories and emotion through their bodies. Its an art form that has always captured me since I was little. The way each dancer can feel the beat and picture a story within seconds of listening.

I've always been interested in the different dance forms, from ballet to Tik Tok dances, they all have a part of showing the story of a dancer. I know that sounds weird but its true, when we dance we tell a story. For example if you look at hula dancing the way they use they're feet and hang gestures shows the story of the song used. These gestures can be about the nature, sun, moon and the ocean. if we look at the dance during Where You are in Moana you can clearly see those movements portraying the different aspects.

For the dance go to 1:47 but I recommend watching the whole song (its the sing-along version)

When we dance we show people how we feel, which is why when you watch dance movies you normally see a character dancing when upset or happy (Step Up being a prime example). One thing that I found when I started to model was that I was able to portray the emotions easily due to pervious dance experience. When you look at any dancer you can see that the face also connects to the body to portray an overall emotion.

In the end it all adds up to create flawless routines that leave people speechless. That's what makes a good dancer, one that can communicate without talking. If we look at ballet dancers, you know exactly what is going on even though you aren't hearing any narratives.
